Hi Team We Run,
Lots of slow running makes slow tired runners 🏃
Increasing high end metabolic and mechanical power to get faster at all distances
Strides (2 sessions P/W)
Strength
Increasing duration of hill strides (1 session P/W)
VO2 Max (2 sessions P/W)
5k work for under 25 min 5k
3k work for over 25 min 5k
The timescale for this is likely to be around 8 to 12 weeks for those who don’t currently do strides and 4 to 8 weeks for those who are already doing consistent strides.
I personally elongate this a little so that I can keep some threshold work throughout the cycle.
